Conveyancer Trust Account Audits

In Victoria, licensed conveyancers must hire an approved auditor to inspect their client trust accounts each financial year and lodge the report with Consumer Affairs Victoria.

The auditor must be a member of CPA Australia, the Institute of Public Accountants, or Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand, and must meet public practice certificate rules.

In New South Wales, you must submit reports to NSW Fair Trading via their online portal.

In Western Australia, you must complete the audit within four months of the financial year-end.

In South Australia, you must finish the annual audit two months before your registration expires.
